October 4th Fishing Report

Giant smallmouth and getting ready for the shiner migration

If you’ve been following our social media, you’ll know we’ve been crushing the giant smallmouth in Big Traverse Bay. And we’re still running charters getting good limits of walleye. We’re fishing more on the South end of the lake with the best results jig fishing or pulling spinners. Pink, white and gold jigs with a minnow are producing in 20-28 feet of water.

And the shiners are starting to migrate into the river, which means the chance for giant fish is coming soon. As the water temps continue to drop, the walleye will strap on the feed bag.as they chase the shiners in the Rainy River.

The fall sturgeon bite is incredible. Giant sturgeon will be stacked up in the River as well. So the chance to tie into a monster will be pretty good!

If you want to get in on the bite, bring your boat and let us know if you need a room. Or call us for a guided small boat trip.

 FISH ON!
